YAKU MAMA FLOATING CLIMATE ACTION CARAVAN TO COP30

We are sailing from the Andes to the Amazon, heading to COP30 in Belém. This is our call for true climate justice, led by those of us who inhabit the territories.

WHAT IS THE
FLOTILLA?

Our flotilla is an act of resistance, hope, and empowerment; a coalition of peoples, communities, organizations, and movements uniting to travel 3,000 km from the Andean glaciers of Ecuador to Belém, Brazil, to arrive at COP30 with solutions and policy demands to mitigate climate change and its consequences.

OBJECTIVES

We bring together the voices of the territories to influence global climate action. We are traveling to Belém to demand that climate policies be built from the territories. We sail to ensure that the demands of Indigenous Peoples, organizations, movements, and coalitions that defend their territories, nature, the Amazon, and their rights are heard in the COP30 negotiations.

1

Defending Territories is Defending Life: We position the protection of the territories of Indigenous Peoples and grassroots communities as the most effective strategy for life and the climate. We demand its inclusion in all mitigation and adaptation plans.

2

Drive Direct and Just Climate Finance: We demand concrete climate policies and funds that guarantee financing flows directly to the peoples and communities on the frontlines of planetary defense.

3

Ensure Full and Effective Participation at COP30: We unite so that the voices, wisdom, and solutions of our peoples and communities are not only heard but become a binding part of the global decisions that affect our future.

4

Ensure Climate and Racial Justice:
Without racial justice, there is no climate justice. We fight to ensure that the rights of Indigenous Peoples and grassroots communities—who are the most affected by the crisis and the least responsible for it—are at the center of all policies.

OUR ROUTE

This is more than a map, this is the logbook of a historic journey: 3,000 kilometers from the Andes to the heart of the Amazon—the path of our coalition to COP30 in Belém. Each point on this route is a strategic stop to expose the scars of extractivism and to amplify the solutions from the territories that defend life. Explore the map and join us on this journey.
